Deuteronomy 12:2-4…Calling all Christian Men
December 3, 2008
syn·cre·tism [ síngkrə tìzzəm ] (plural syn·cre·tisms) combination of different beliefs: the combination of different systems of philosophical or religious belief or practice (Encarta World English Dictionary)
Deuteronomy 12:2-4 says “You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names from that place. You shall not worship the Lord your God with such things.” Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians chapter 10 to “flee from idolatry”. He then goes on to say “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.”
As clearly shown from Scripture, God hates syncretism. He forbids us as His people from using things of pagan origins in our worship of Him. Yet, each year, many leaders of our congregations, along with scores of Christian husbands and fathers will not only celebrate, but will lead and encourage others (including their own wives and children) to participate in the pagan based, catholic propagated holiday known as Christ-mass. They will bring the green tree and other “Christ-mass decorations” into their own homes knowing full well that these items are used to this very day in the occult worship of false gods. Deuteronomy 7:26 states very plainly “Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it. You shall utterly detest it and utterly abhor it, for it is an accursed thing.” Yet, Christian men not only allow these things into their homes…but they set them up like pagan shrines for their children and grand-children to gather around in joyous celebration all the while, telling the little ones entrusted to them… “it’s all about Jesus”.
This is course the exact same mistake that Aaron and the children of Israel made during the “golden calf” incident found in Exodus 32. Aaron took a statue of a calf, something that was commonly used by the nations in the worship of Baal, and instructed the people to use it in their worship of God. Listen for yourselves and decide if the shoe fits. Speaking of the golden calf he said “This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!” “So when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, “Tomorrow is a feast to the Lord”
Aaron knew the truth of the golden calf just as many congregational leaders know the truth about Christ-mass. You are witnessing a modern day act of spiritual adultery on a world wide scale. The judgment that is coming will likewise be world wide. It’s time for the men of God to repent and then stand up and speak the truth concerning the “spirit of Christmas”. We should be teaching our children the Commandments of God, not engaging them in pagan traditions of men. Those placed by God into positions of leadership in families and congregations should be casting out the foreign idols from their homes and lives before it’s too late.
Thus says the Lord: “Do not learn the way of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsmen shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten with hammer and nails so it will not totter. Jeremiah 10:2-4

(This short teaching is meant to be a wake up call for all men of God who know the truth about the origins of Christ-mass yet, still celebrate it with their families. It is meant as a wake -up call for those congregational leaders who, while understanding the pagan roots of this catholic holy-day will try to somehow justify it before their people by saying something like “it’s all about Jesus to me.” It’s time for real men of faith to stand up and speak the truth…no matter the cost. Christianity is engaged in 100% full blown idol worship and judgment is coming. Count on it. If you are reading this and have no idea what I am talking about…just take five minutes out of your Christmas shopping schedule and do a computer search for the origins of Christmas)
